Position Summary:
The Research Analyst supports the Impact Department’s research project during the contract period. This role will contribute to advancing the mission of JobTrain by providing high-level research and analytical support to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization’s programs, particularly in the areas of career advancement and economic mobility. The Research Analyst will be responsible for managing data collection, analysis, and reporting processes while ensuring that grant requirements and quality assurance procedures are followed. The role involves direct collaboration with the Impact team and other stakeholders across JobTrain's programs.
This is 12 month contracted part time role with a budget of 8 hours of work per week.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct literature reviews relevant to ongoing and new research projects.
- Assist in interview and focus group design, recruitment, and administration.
- Manage, organize, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data using tools such as R, Excel, Atlas ti. and/or PowerBI.
- Summarize data findings through written and visual reports for stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain electronic and hard copy systems for gathering, storing, and ensuring the quality assurance of research data.
- Create and manage effective data quality assurance systems to adhere to grant contractual requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of grant reports, ensuring all components are complete and meet the required standards.
- Prepare training materials and provide training to staff on evaluation methods and data collection procedures.
- Conduct regular meetings with staff and management to review grant requirements, quality assurance procedures, and data findings.
- Summarize interview data, survey results, and program outcomes to inform strategic decisions.
- Provide program evaluations and support the Impact team in ongoing quality improvement efforts.
Education / Certifications:
- Master student or above in Public Policy, Psychology, Sociology, or another related social science field with quantitative and qualitative research experience.
- Proof of COVID vaccination required (subject to applicable law).
- At least 3 years of experience in research design, implementation, data analysis and reporting and/or quality assurance, including grant management oversight.
- Previous experience with data visualization.
- 1 year of experience working in a nonprofit setting preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of program evaluation methods, particularly Empowerment and Utilization Focused Evaluation approaches preferred.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with statistical software.
- Experience using CRM systems, such as Salesforce, preferred.
- Ability to work with data collection teams to overcome challenges and improve data quality.
- Ability to interpret and present complex data in an accessible and actionable format.
- Dependability in meeting deadlines and managing responsibilities efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and other relevant software.

Compensation and Benefits
JobTrain offers a competitive salary, 401K with a 5% match after joining, EAP and emergency services, and paid sick leave.The hiring rate for this position will be $38 an hour.
