About the Department and Role

As the Instructional Coordinator at JobTrain, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience for students pursuing Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways. In addition, this role serves as a support for our staff of instructors and Career Development Specialists.

Responsibilities:

As an Instructional Coordinator at JobTrain, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience for students pursuing Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways. In addition, this role supports our staff of instructors and career development specialists. Your responsibilities include: 
 

Collaborative Curriculum Development: 

  • Support JobTrain instructors and the Instructional team in maintaining and developing innovative curricula for CTE programs. 

  • Assist the Manager of Instruction in evaluating the existing JobTrain CTE curricula and update them as needed 

  • Contribute to creating high-quality, engaging, and relevant curriculum materials that align with industry standards and best practices. 

  • Collaborate with community partners and the JobTrain CTE team to discuss, evaluate, and develop new curricula and consider new and innovative programming. 

Assessment and Feedback: 

  • Conduct regular assessments of our current CTE curricula and instructional methods to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement 

  • Facilitate the distribution, collection, and analysis of our end-of-class surveys, utilizing feedback for continuous improvement. 

Accreditation and Compliance: 

  • Collaborate with the Manager of Instruction and the JobTrain team to maintain WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) accreditation. 

  • Adhere to and implement school policies while supporting initiatives for accreditation processes. 

Learning Management System 

  • Co-manage the administrative side of the current Learning Management System, Canvas including: instructor support, assisting in the duplication of courses, assisting in the adding of staff and students, training new staff, attending training opportunities, supporting student training during tech demos. 

Professional Development: 

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in CTE and postsecondary education and integrate relevant insights into curriculum development. 

  • Attend seminars, engage in skills and professional development, and participate in relevant professional organizations to ensure continuous growth. 

Documentation and Reporting: 

  • Document processes and outcomes using a variety of tools, maintaining clear records of curriculum development activities. 

  • Collaborate with the Manager of Instruction, Manager of Career Development, and Director of Career Training and Education to analyze and improve processes related to our CTE programs 

Team Collaboration: 

  • Work collaboratively with the JobTrain team, aligning efforts with the organization's Mission, Values, and School-Wide Learning Objectives. 

Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Have a background in education, curriculum development, and/or educational technology (3-5+ years preferred) 

  •  Applicants must have previous classroom teaching experience (secondary or postsecondary) (3-5+ years preferred) 

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (ex: Canvas) 

  • Experience with eLearning platforms preferred, but not required 

  • Familiarity with WASC accreditation or other accreditation processes is required  

  • Project planning or project management experience is a plus. 

Commitment to Growth and Engagement: 

  • Attend faculty and staff meetings, on-site professional development workshops, and participate in our school-wide graduation ceremonies. 

  • Candidate should be comfortable leading professional development sessions for JobTrain Instructional team

Compensation and Benefits:

JobTrain offers a competitive salary, numerous health benefit plans and premium coverage of 90%, vision and dental, flex spending and HSA programs, 401K with a 5% match after joining, EAP and emergency services, vacation time, paid sick leave, retirement program employer match, long-term disability and life insurance.  We also pay employees for 10 observed holidays including a whole week off between Christmas Eve and New Years Day.

The targeted pay range for this position is: $66,560 - $77,631.10
